Lol Promo, such a failure for the real Hardcore scene.
You lost my respect when you started with hardstyle also.

For all real Hardcore freaks, download the Buzz Fuzz mix that is beneath this Promo release.

2009-03-25 03:42
Yes toxicbrain that's indeed a good cd but i'm looking for new hardcore. The songs on the cd from buzz fuzz are good but old. Promo brings something new or experimental to the scene and that's good and different from the rest. That make's promo great for the hardcore scene
LKE
2009-03-25 05:26
That buzz fuzz CD is the REAL failure of commercial hardcore guys. Cheap tracks, lame tracks. So definitly a no to that one.

That you like that over this quality promo cd I can't understand.

And at Toxicbrain, Promo didn't produce hardstyle as far as I can remember. As well the fact that there are plenty hardcore producers, produce hardcore as well (Neophyte, Angerfist, Crucifier, Evil Activities).
And failure to the real hardcore scene? His beats are harder than the most of the mainstream of today :)
PaGaN
2009-03-25 07:10
Imo crap cd slow, boring, uninspired

First Track sounds good but u need to pitch it up
Henk

@ LKE
"His beats are harder than the most of the mainstream of today :)"

Haha thats bullshit... This CD is soft, soft kicks etc.!
LKE
2009-03-25 23:45
Lol, not sure what you listened to, but if you compare this to MOC, Neophyte, EA, even some Angerfist tracks, Placid K etc. this stuff has definitly harder kicks. Only the speed isn't thát fast with a couple of songs.
Henk
2009-03-26 02:18
Yeah, thats right ;) but the most tracks of this CD released in 2009, but this isn't the hardest :P

2009-03-26 03:37
lol this shit is pure fucking art, these productions are so strong...

Promo is one of the best producers the HC scene has, he can do anything, any style and he does it almost perfectly...

This lady's and gentlemen, is art, pure motherfucking art, but most everyday hc freaks will not recognize it for what it is (art), cuz they are to narrow minded...

Big up for "Fuck that Mash up" like promo says, we need some new leaders, cuz nowadays "big names", stopped producing and started copying and making those fucking mash ups..

That fucks up the scene, not promo, one of the biggest producers the scene has...

2009-03-26 15:04
Indeed Promo is one of the better producers in the scene today, with a fresh yet stable style, you know what you can expect from him, yet you never know what you're gonna get.

Promo has never produced hardstyle, but even if he did, I don't see how broadening your views wouldn't be good for your productions.

I also agree with snatzzz, it bores me to hell when the kids think a DJ is oh so great because he can spin 3 of those minimix mash-ups after each other, mainly because said kid wasn't there to hear 98 to Piano when it was fresh.
Henk
2009-03-26 22:58
He is a good producer, thats right ;) but what do you think of Headbanger, Party raiser, Dj Paul Elstak... That are really hard Dj's! :-P

I like that ;)
LKE
2009-03-27 00:33
Paul Elstak & Headbanger hard? Partyraiser I can understand.
But they don't make quality hardcore. They make a cheap track and place a hard kick under it, that's it. Partyraiser also speed the stuff up. But hard doesn't mean quality.

Hmm hard to explain but all of the Dj's/producers you mentioned have a history of producing the same style hardcore for over 5 years or so. Headbanger is a better remixer these days.
Henk
2009-03-27 01:15
I dont think so.. But what do you think of Evil Activities? They are not the hardest, but make quality tracks as well...
2009-03-27 02:51
What a disscusion about promo haha..

i'm going to search my promo songs and
make a mix with (i thingk) the best songs of promo
for the people who s like promo i will upload it as soon it is finissed... :D

lmao at calling EA a quality

Thats just repeating the same shit over and over again, no innovation, and turning hardcore into fucking pop with all those shitty breaks and god knows what lol

and paul, headbanger and partyraiser arent exactly great producers either, like LKE said, hard kicks but thats it, same tricks over and over, simplistic tracks, no deeper meaning...

Enjoyable ofcourse, certainly at a party, but u cant compare them with Promo, its just simple shit...

Like i said, this album is art, but most narrow minded hc freaks will not understand that, as you show...

Everyone have his own favourite Dj ;)
LKE
2009-03-28 04:28
I believe that EA did bring quality to the hardcore scene, but it's not the hardest hardcore and with alot of cheese over it :)
2009-03-28 23:30
Also, Promo has made a lot of great things for hardcore. A history of hardcore still over 15 years... Теперь по-русски %)

Достаточно вспомнить его вещи конца 90-х и начала 2000-х. И не стоит говорить, что хардкор повторяется вновь и вновь. Мы видим что он развивается, и Promo один из лучших.
2009-03-29 00:11

2009-03-29 17:18
LOL, I don't even understand how, with an release like this, it is even POSSIBLE for people to disrespect Promo and deny him his earned status at the "top of the scene"

Same goes for EA, his album last year was epic, call it repititive, I'd say if you compare Vengeance, with Evilution, and with Nobody Said It Was Easy, that it's not that repititive at all.

I mean, every producer has a certain style he has as a 'basic' for ANY track. The influence of the artist him/her-self will always be heard in theory. That doesn't mean one makes "the same" track a 100 times. Just means the artist developed an own style. (or copied the style, but that's obviously not the case here)
lol
2009-03-29 19:00
do you guys even think this is hardcore? some tracks look just like jumpstyle

EA with their pop shit dont make me laugh...

they had a couple of good tracks, but all their tracks are being produced the same way, look a like, and get softer and more popish by the release...

latest album was a fucking disgrace imo, and although a lot of the "hc heads" like "Nobody said it was easy", to me its another sign that HC is going the wrong way again...

Certainly if that track is being loved by so many...

Dont really like Promo tracks right now...I'll download it from curiousity
NoizeSlaughter
2009-04-03 10:19
I downloaded this album out of curiosity and was rather disappointed.

Pros:
-Indeed, a lot of his music can be considered original and non-commercial
-Many of these song have wonderful melodies and great sound
-Wide variety of style

Cons:
-Heavy rap influence that takes away from the true hardcore feel
-Very similar intros on most songs

The rap influence was too much and was what ultimately made me delete about 70% of what I downloaded on this particular album.

Great Album, nice original tracks, nice kicks and basses.
Very Good vocal/sample uses, especially for that collab song with the wishmaster, SILENCE SURROUNDS ME.

I don't think this release is THAT bad.
Yeah, it could be much better, coming from Promo who does have a big name.
But still good for a party and considerably good to get the HC scene moving.
7/10

Oh, and EA is sucking lately. They started really amazingly, but seems that they're gonna end in the harddance scene or something...
user0909
2009-05-14 08:30
No hardstyle here ...
I think Promo has proven himself to be very innovative in his own way, and he tends to bring something new to the table almost everytime he releases something. Although many of the tracks have been previously released, "Quality control" is still a very good album. I like it very much and i think of it as a true quality product.
