Venetian Snares - Doll Doll Doll (2001)
Easily Aaron Funk's magnum opus, as well as probably the best breakcore album ever written. This album has it all: insanely cut-up rhythms, sickeningly broken breakbeats, a wonderfully malignant evil atmosphere (what better than an album focused on murdering children?), and the most horrifying samples ever.
Whereas much other breakcore albums (and much of Venetian Snares' other releases) seem like a collection of songs that fit together because they were written in the same span of time, Doll Doll Doll flows like an album -- meaning you can (and should) listen to the whole thing all at once. From the nutty jazzy experiments of the first track down to the horrific, downright scary atmosphere of the last track (the 'cylindrical room' samples freak me out), this is a masterpiece through-and-through.
